The Clans

This year we are arranging the layout of the ground to allow the Clan tents to spread between the two sets of dancing groups and the Country Dancers. This will bring the Clans in closer to where more peope are involved. Please see the Showgrounds Layout 2012 for details.

Further the attending Clans should be prepared to have a Clan Badge stamp or something similar. The Geelong Highland Gathering is introducing a Highland Passport for the children. This will have a place for them to go around each of the Clan tents and collect a stamp in their passport, showing they have visited each of the clans present. This should bring a lot more foot traffic to your tent, so make sure you have as much information out about your family as possible!

Clans need to consider their involvement in the opening and possibly the closing ceremonies. Please contact the Secretary via the contact form if you wish to participate as it would be nice to know the level of involvement we can expect.

Clans wishing to rent a tent from the local scouts in Geelong can do so for a cost of around $40-$60. Note that there are only six such tents available, so it is a first in best dressed affair. Please contact Vendor Management via our contact form for bookings.

Please inform the Secretary via the contact form whether your clan is attending, as part of this, please provide a brief write up about your Clan so that we can include it in the 2012 Geelong Highland Gathering program. One Clan will be selected by the Committee to be the "2012 Clan Of The Gathering", this will be highighlighted in the program as well.
